I moved to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, from Easton, Pennsylvania, in 2017. 

In my life as a touring musician, living and being at my house is like an Art Residency every time I return home from the busy tour on the road. Now I am offering to “sublet” my place, as an “Art Residency”, for your art development. 

Suitable for Sound composition, Recordings, Sound editing and mixing, field recordings, Crafts, Paintings, and Writing. And the experience of Magic in the desert, field study, Rio Grande, White Sands, and the opportunity at the town of Natural Hot Springs. 

I plan to share with my friends, friends of friends, fans, and our like-minded community. I am a strict private person and need some respect from residents, so it’s not just for anyone in public. Away from home, but still want to live and work, and develop their sound art projects.

The city of T or C, located in southern New Mexico, with a population of 6000, is a charming and famous rural town, known for its mineral hot springs. It gives me enough space and distance from the busy world, where time runs very differently from the city. 

Dry air climate, always sunny and blue sky, not too cold or heavy snow, not like the everyday gray sky in the wintertime in the east. I kept a place for a well-maintained, nice quiet place for rest, work, and developing my art discipline.

All furnished, so you don’t need to move all of your household items; you can start life immediately. Single residents are welcome, or a couple. There is plenty of space for two. Small animals are okay. (I have a cat allergy) 

3-bedroom house located in a quiet off-street city neighborhood (offer 2-bedrooms), on the hillside of the town, giving a stunning view of the mountain and city, bright all-day light, three newly installed mini-split Air conditioners, and all the cooking equipment you need. A roofed parking garage, an outdoor cooking and hangout area, plenty of work area, and a Sound Studio set up. People in town say this is the best house in the city.

The Sound Studio included a workstation desk with high-quality speaker systems, nice microphone preamps, a great selection of microphones with all stands, and all cables and a snake. A room sound-treated with sound foams and movable panels. You will bring your own Laptop and audio interface, and hook up to the system in a minute. Bring your sourced instruments, your own amps, etc.

Besides the Audio Studio set up, two art studio areas, both inside and half outdoor, a craft table, and some hand power tools. A fantastic view from the bed when you wake up, outdoor patio space, and art and craft room. An outdoor patio has a metal fence, a table and stools, a cooking stove, a wok stove, a sink, and a cold outdoor shower for hot summer days. Has a Weber grill for BBQ or smoked food. An outdoor stove burner that can do wok-cooking or any other daily meal, which serves as a second outdoor kitchen area. The kitchen has everyday household items, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Stove w/ oven, Microwave, Vitamix, Rice cooker, Air fryer, Toaster, Coffee maker, and all spices and condiments. A washing machine is available but no dryer (sun dry takes only a few hours at this place, hanging clothes on a wire in the half outside studio area). 2 toilets are equipped with an electric bidet with heated seats. Smart TV with VHS and Blu-ray player. Hi-fi audio with two cassette decks, a CD player, and a Record player. Two bicycles are available to use and are very safe to ride in town compared to the big city. Cable high-speed internet. Amazon, or mail order, will be delivered by UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

A small audition process required: a brief description of what you are going to do at this Art Residency, and a short work sample. And I would like to discuss Zoom or FaceTime with the applicant. If we don’t know each other directly, I need a reference from a mutual friend to confirm that you are the right person for this.  

Terms 1-6 months. Furnished House with 2 bedrooms with 2 baths (large and small), $1500/month, all utilities included.
